Happy late Mother’s Day yesterday. If you are raising, or have ever raised, kids, you’re a rockstar to me.

Also (and definitely very secondly) happy National Stuttering Awareness Week, which is running last Saturday, May 9th through Friday, May 15th.

It’s been 38 years since President Ronald Reagan first signed a proclamation in 1988 officially designating the second week of May “National Stuttering Awareness Week.”

But I like what the NSA is doing this year.

They’re deeming it “National Stuttering Acceptance Week.”

Which I think is way better.

Either way, you’ll be more than “aware” of everything that mattered in stuttering last week by the end of this email.

Really, you’ll just need to accept it.

The American Institute for Stuttering dropped a beautiful new 0:59-second commercial about stuttering. Featuring big names like Emily Blunt and Ed Sheeran as well as regular school teachers and accountants saying “I’m a _______, and I stutter,” this will be the most inspiring minute for your kids who stutter this week (American Institute For Stuttering, via iSpot, 1 minute).

High school junior Erin Reid delivered the best new Ted Talk on stuttering called “Meet My Friend, My Stutter.” Witty and masterful, her talk flips the script on stuttering as she speaks of it not as an enemy to hide from by a complex friend she has learned to embrace over time.
